As long as they are both dot 4, they should be fine. If you can't get the bleed nipple undone, try some heat and some pblaster. Sometimes the problem is the rubber button seal on the top of the nipple is ripped and lets moisture in, so the nipple rusts from the hollow inside of the nipple, outwards to the caliper. It's possible to clean out the rusted nipple and the small hole it has at the bottom with drill bits.
Your comment "I posted to get advice on a good jack, not on how to avoid getting a darwin award." on a previous post I made, was noted. One of the great things about this BB is that often posts go off on a tangent, and I have learned a great deal from other's wisdom (despite doing all my own wrenching on my saabs for the past 21 years) and am humble enough to recognise that the collective wisdom here is not worth criticising others.
Good luck.
