Every car I've ever seen that doesn't use a key for doors and/or ignition has some sort of backup - a hidden spot for a traditional key, or a fob that actually stores a traditional key inside. Peoples' batteries go dead every day from leaving lights on, etc. - no manufacturer is going to leave out a Plan B and have to deal with a pile of angry customers.
I for one LOVE this technology. Makes getting stuff into your car when your hands are full easier, makes getting from indoors to in the car easier when its rainy or snowy, and makes for a much speedier getaway when you're being chased by zombies. Not having to fumble for 30 seconds trying to slot a key into an ignition switch is a blessing.
