Non-turbo NG900 was pretty much the pinnacle of that generation. With bigger brakes and hydraulic clutch, there is not too much that you need to worry about. The switch to turbo-only in 1999 brings a new level of complexity and more difficult maintenance due to far less underhood space and higher power that this chassis was never designed to handle. 150 2.3 may be sedate in comparison but it is very smooth and quiet and the car is super easy to drive in bad weather when running premium tires. It can still do upwards of 130 mph when pushed.
With timely routine maintenance, use of manufacturer recommended materials (ACEA A3 rated oil ONLY) and careful driving, this can be a 300k mile car with minimal cash outlay.
