which model? year?
when you buy a car at 99k, you expect to replace a bunch of wear items... on that list would be the exhaust parts, tie rod ends, sway bar links, shocks, engine mounts, rad hoses, and thermostats (which should be replaced every couple years anyway)... and (not on your list) belts + pullies, and brakes, and tires, and... owning a car costs money!
some of those modules can be repaired for about $200 give or take...
what you need to ask yourself is: can you better afford a car payment (so maintenance is under warranty), or would you rather have no payment + pay something for repairs... there is a factor in there for inconvenience... we buy our cars outright, used, and keep them a long time... the cost of maintenance + purchase works out to less than a lease on a Honda Civic (which I would hate to drive, and we love to drive our Saabs)...
but it could be that your car is a basketcase, in which case it is better to let it go... doesn't mean there's anything wrong with Saabs - just do lots of due diligence on the next one... the more recent models seem pretty darn reliable...
