I have no experience with the 900 or any Saab convertible, but my EPC (with its parts diagrams) does show the system.
The vacuum bottle, whether under the hood or in the trunk (convertibles only) should have two vacuum lines. One line should also have a check valve where it mates to the bottle. this should help identify which one is missing on your car.
Unfortunately the diagram is very poor and my WIS does not cover this model so I can't tell you where either line connects at their other end.
