Minor fender bender insurance claim

My wife was backing out of a space at the grocery store and got into a minor scrape with another car in our Jeep. Probably both at fault and she didn't get a police report. It put a five inch crease on the top of the bumper cover, cracked the license plate holder and left a 1 inch crease of the face of the bumper cover. I can get a new license plate holder for $60. the rest is hardly noticeable. To fix it I'm guessing it'll take a new bumper cover, which I'm thinking will be $1000 or less (though I could be wrong). It is leased, so in theory this could come back to haunt me when I turn it in. Odds are I'll buy when the lease is up since it'll be worth $4or5000 more than the residual price. So the question is do I make a claim with my insurance company? I have $1000 deductible and so odds are I'll be pretty much paying for it myself. Making a claim could cause them to raise my rates and I'll get little out of it. Or do I leave it and pay for it myself if it become an issue?
