Plastic Ramps Posted by JustinHiFi [Email] (#829) [Profile/Gallery] (more from JustinHiFi) on Sun, 3 Nov 2013 05:38:08 In Reply to: Re: Rhino Ramp adapters for my Viggen, AdamSAAB2kAero [Profile/Gallery] , Sat, 2 Nov 2013 14:56:07 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Nice wood work, but...
Id be very careful using plastic drive ramps. They are known to fail/crush/shatter under normal use conditions with vehicle far below their specd weight limit. Happened to a friend with a Honda Accord couple years ago plus many many other cases reported online "rhino ramp failure". Using plastic ramps is equivalent to using plastic jack stands.
It looks like your driveway may be pitched away from your garage. Highly suggest if you continue to use the ramps to use them on level ground. No possibility of the vehicle sliding back down off the ramps.
Nothing beats (beside a full commercial lift of course) a good high rise jack and a good set of jackstands for safety. Damage to the vehicle and or you isnt worth the risk.
