yup, I was not complaining about the PSS - like you say, they are meant for track or other high performance situations. We never can reach the limits of those tires on normal roads (certainly not legally!!), and it might be arguable if a 9-5 can reach the dry performance limitations of PSS even on a track... but it is a good street tire also if you accept the tire wear.
Generally I don't care about tire wear, but the General AS03 or Potenza RE970 are enough performance and a little longer lasting. I have zero interest in the more standard non-directional rotationally symmetric (mount anywhere) long range touring all seasons. My experience with those sorts of tires performance-wise (especially wet) has not been at all positive. Some of the newer high performance AS tires are more like mid-performance summer tires used to be (and not at all good in snow! which is fine, I run Hakkas for that).
PSS is cool because when I got them, rolling the wheels on the driveway as I installed, they are so sticky, they pick up every little bit of dirt! pretty cool.
