This is the non-profit that I started in 2008 which has now made over 50,000 0% interest loans to the working poor around the world with a 99% repayment rate and 97% of all donations going into our loan-making program:

Poverty2Prosperity.org, affectionately called P2P, has been lending to small businesses for over 16 years now. We are very excited to announce our 19th fund* (see list of our funds at bottom), the Climate Fund. This fund focuses on lending to borrowers whose activities help to improve the climate. This is also our first partnership with another group, The Climate Pilots, who specialize in researching and finding these types of loans and who will help us to manage this fund directly.
Here are some examples of the types of loans that will be funded: Solar solutions for smallholder farmers, lamps (replacing kerosene), food storage which helps to reduce food waste and make food production more efficient, recycling collection services, regenerative agriculture (e.g. putting nitrogen back in the soil), biomass stoves and biodigesters, seaweed farming, and bamboo, just to name several.

Our Climate Fund GivingTuesday fundraiser has two anonymous donors who will match donations. The first donor will give a 100% match if we can raise $3,000 for the fund (we get an extra $3,000). The second donor will match every dollar above $3,000 100% up to $10,000. Also, if we reach the $6,000 and $10,000 donation amounts, there will be a reward of an extra $1,000. That means there is a potential for $12,000 in matching donations. Weโ€™ll keep folks updated of the current donation amounts on the top of our home page (https://Poverty2Prosperity.org). We already have $1,225 in donations to the fund as of this morning. Donations can be made here on Facebook or through our own website linked below.

Donations for GivingTuesday (or any other fund you specific) will be accepted from Wednesday, November 27th until Friday December 6th.

Poverty 2 Prosperity, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) and donations are tax deductible. In 16 years, P2P has made over 50,000 loans with a 99% repayment rate and with over 97% of all donations going directly into our loan-making program. Our founding donation in 2008 will still be making new loans in 2100.
You can also donate to any of our other funds for #GivingTuesday and they are also all shown on our donations page linked above.

*Some examples of our other funds are: Womenโ€™s Fund, Single Parents Fund, Youth Fund (26 & Under, Education Fund (tuition and providers), Personal Housing Fund, Artisans Fund, India (Bharat) Fund, Agriculture Fund, USA Fund, and we have several donor specific Perpetual Funds.
