I had a Sable (Taurus twin) a few years back. Bought it new, dumped it at 80K. The rotors warped every 6 months, but then again, it had a scary long stopping distance. The cooling system was guaranteed to blow a hose every year. The heater core failed (Saabs aren't the only one). Lastly the performance (V6) degraded noticably from new, and required premium gas to not ping like crazy. Oh, yes, it started rusting just behind the rear doors after 4 years.
That was an 87. Are they different now? Maybe.
What is the 'best' in best car? Is 'best' best gas mileage? Is it most luxury for your $$$$? Most carrying space, performance, reliability, fun to drive, head turns/mile? A V8 Camaro may have the best acceleration for the money, but fuel mileage sucks and you'll never carry anything big.
Define what you want in terms of 'best'. What's important, and not important? Safety? Reliablity? Cost of ownership? 1/4 mile times? For example, a used Honda is probably more reliable than a Saab. But having walked away from a major collision in a Saab, and having my wife carried from a crash in a Honda, I'll spend an extra weekend or so turning a wrench if it means that the next time a goat-roper in an SUV runs a light, my chances of surviving are greater.
Your question is unanserable until you provide more info.
