I have 18x7 forgeline WC-3's on my 88 SPG & if they can fit on my SPG, it's a easy fit on your 9K! Abbott actually sells a 4 pot 330mm brake kit for the 9K's which requires the fitment of 18 in rims. I am actually attempting to put those brakes on my 88 SPG as well :o)
Ride wise, I have intrax springs, koni adjustables, 225-35-18 tires & the car rides smoother then my 87 SPG does with OEM springs, KYB shocks & OEM 15 in rims. Expansion joints, pot holes, rough roades, etc are no problem with my setup, I actually plan on turning the Koni's up a notch because I would prefer a stiffer ride then what I have!
Handling is not even close! With the weight of the 18's are a few lbs lighter then the OEM 15's.
I did slightly bend 1 rim & it was simply fixed with a rubber mallet.
http://www.forgeline.com is where my rims are made & if you are interested, I can find some pics to show you
