Alright dudes - I don't have all that much money to spend on my 1995 Saab 900S, 57K miles. And right now, I think something mechanical may be on the brink of death inside my beloved car. It's EXTREMELY hard to describe - the engine just doesn't feel "right" when I accelerate. It almost seems to moan softly... and also, the transmission shifts very abrubtly and erratically, with lots of "white space" in between gear changes. Strange, though, because the transmission was completely serviced last year, and I've only done half a year's worth of driving since then. Now if you have any answers as to what may be causing these problems, (maybe there's nothing wrong at all... this is my first car and I really want this car to last for a loooooong time) that would be great. But my real question is this: how would I know that something is going wrong? What's a good indication my spark plugs are going? What's a good indication my transmission is going? What's a good indication my oil needs to be changed? My timing belt/chain/whatever is going? My tires are going? My fluids need to be changed? My brake pads need to be changed? My suspension/springs/struts are going? How do I know? HOW DO I KNOW? AAH! Don't die, Saab! Please help out... I'm neurotic!
