Got home from work to a door wide open. CD Player, DVD Player, Digital Cam, nice Canon Elan camera setup... All gone. Then for some reason I decide to look in the back yard... My wife's old Toyota was stolen, too. What a way to start the weekend. Cops came and did a report and dusted for prints. Looks like I'll try to see what the insurance man can do tomorrow... Instead of a Christmas part I changed 4 deadbolts and 3 doorknobs...
Lessons Learned:
1 Don't hang your car keys from cute little hooks in the kitchen.
2 Hide the Keys!
3 If you ever loan out keys, loan out the one for the knob.
4 Use a different set of keys for your deadbolts.
5 Burglers go for things they can get quickly, and that they can sell quickly. (A $4500 preamp is still on my rack, but the $200 DVD player is gone. Idiots.)
If they don't find it and I can get decent $$$ there will be a C900TC or miata in my future.
