pac nw vs. denver Posted by Ryan [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Re: OT: Move to Denver ?, Joe T, Wed, 12 Dec 2001 17:08:05 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
my wife and i moved to the puget sound area from denver and here are my thoughts on both (if you don't mind!).
colorado winters are harsh vs. washington/oregon winters.
skiing (snow) is better in colorado, with the exception of last year- summit county is one hour from denver (i miss a-basin).
summers are dry, dry, dry in colorado- forget about seeing things green.
denver has the colorado avalanche (if you're a hockey fan).
denver is a very young city- it's growing like mad, and not nearly as aesthetically pleasing as portland (in my opinion).
seattle and vancouver, b.c. are much closer to portland than denver.
i'd consider moving back to colorado, but i would dearly miss the water here.
as far as jobs go, i can't speak much for the colorado economy, but my wife's a headhunter with richard, wayne and roberts, and you might consider sending a copy of your resume to catherines@rwr.com. just a thought. they place candidates in just about every field imaginable.
