SLOW 96 Corvette 6 speed 50,000 miles. Please help. My Vette has a self adjusting hydraulic clutch and its been and ongoing problem for the last 8,000 miles. 2 new master cylinders, new slave cylinder, finally replaced entire clutch which cost about $1,200 at the dealer. Finally decent performance for 340hp. Car actually drove like a Corvette for the first time in ages. Lasted about 70 miles now the car is a total dog once again.
Was following a friend in a Isuzu Amigo to a party and could not keep up!!!
Two dealers have told me its my imagination and have tried to sell me 2002's. I have NEVER run this car hard at all or abused it in any way, its really wasted on me, but when the clutch was working I actually liked driving it.Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be? It has to be clutch related because replacing it solved the problem for two weeks.
Otherwise car runs and drives flawlessly but is only getting about 10mpg.
One good thing about my Corvette is it really makes me appreciate my 900tc.
Thanks for any info...
