May not be the clutch, but related... Posted by Joe [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Re: What are the symptoms? Slipping? Engagement?, TigerLilly, Mon, 14 Jan 2002 22:11:17 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
It may not be the clutch per-se. When they changed the clutch they had to disturm the engine and transmission mounts. Perhaps when they put it back together the motor was a little off. This caused your problem to go away for a bit until the motor shifted back.
Change the motor and transmission mounts.
I think the problem may be ultimatley ignition or fuel related due to the motor moving.
That said, do back to the dealer wher you had the clutch done. 70 miles is too short. Look in your manual and talk to the customer service people at GM. Go up the ladder. If you can't get anywhere, then go to another dealer.
Finding a good corvette mechanic is difficult. Most chevy dealers have little experience.
A friend of mine had an '84 vette. The windshield would fog with the AC on in the summer. It was so bad he could not run the car on hot days as it was black. The defrost vents were open when the ac was on cooling the windshield. It was only serviced by the original dealer. He took it to several dealers and got no help. Finally he had his young nefew who just completed GM training look at it. He saw the misrouted vacuum lines and fixed the problem. This took 2 minutes at a family picnic. Not everyone knows how to work on a vette.
Drive Safe,
Joe
