No! The issue is quality not quantity! The US has sent the right mix of forces in the region, and has the right types of personnel on the ground in Afghanistan.
If you want to keep the Afghans from slaughtering one another ask the Canadians or Europeans to keep the peace. Their militaries are still semi-lethal and can probably deal with any outbreak of violence. Forget the UN. IMHO, the UN is just a big circle jerk.
The US maintains the military for fighting. And Thank God for that!
