doesn't mean it is. Mogul skiiers have to make 80 or so perfect turns and two impressive jumps while banging through a mogul field as fast as they can. The judging is strict, and there's no lack of competition.
I've been skiing since I was 4, and I've probably never been able to make mogul skiing look easy for more than 40 bumps in a row, without catching big air. So I figure that all of these olympic skiiers must be twice as good as me, at least ;o) Take a look at what they're doing with their poles during the replays- you'll see some unbelievable agility on display.
Of course, it doesn't have the high-octane excitement of the downhill or the sheer balls of both the nordic and freestyle jumping events, but neither do the slalom races or the snowboard GS. Slower doesn't mean easier. Ask any cross-country racer. There are always events which are more spectacular than others within a discipline, but you can't deny the athleticism involved in mogul skiing.
If you want to make it exciting, try it sometime.
