I have always owned a hatchback saab (99 and C900's) and I have no complaints about it. It can carry pretty much anything you want and will move it fast. If you need a reliable car with the ability to move your apartment in one trip, then take the C900.
However, ever since my girlfriend bought a 1993 9000 CDE, I've really began thinking about buying it from her! C900's are great in the snow, but this 9000 is a monster in the snow. It has ABS and TCS. With the combination of these two things and hakka's all around, the car doesn't even care about road conditions. I love it. Plus the CD has a gigantic trunk. It's just to bad the back seat doesn't fold down!
Now, the 9000 does have the potential to really cost some money for repairs. The TCS is a time bomb waiting to happen! There is the climate control system that can be a bastard. The auto trannys are known to need rebuilding around 100k miles.
It's a matter of taste really. I love both cars, and that's why I got both in my driveway!
