... so worn tires in front are not a good idea.
Front and back should also be the same design and have similar wear, as they must both have enough grip when cornering.
My advice is to invest in 4 identical good tires and rotate them front/back regularly (once every 5k miles or so on a Saab)to extend life/performance. The benefit:less of a chance to cause damage to you, your passengers and your car.
