I purchased my set of winter tires with steel wheels from Tire Rack and have been very pleased. Convenience is one big advantage, but it also protects your nice wheels from all the chemicals and crud that are on the the road in the winter. My Integra's alloys look bad just because of the effects of the corrosive chemicals over time. It did ok with all season tires, but never had the traction of the winter tires on my Saab. The Saab is great with the winter tires. I remember climbing a snow/ice covered hill to a parking lot, and discovered that I had the only 2 wheel drive vehicle at the top! The other vehicles were all-wheel-drive cars or 4 wheel drive trucks. The other 2 wheel drive cars never made it up the hill. There is another advantage. It is easier to thoroughly clean and wax my nice alloys off the car. And it is a good time to rotate tires.
