Sorry, the L850 is not related to the truck engine...

family. Those are much larger displacement engines, but they are supposed to be very cool. One of the trucks at Pikes Peak was running a version of the 4200 and was making major power.
On a seperate note, the GM Motorsports guys have been turbocharging and supercharging the L850 engine in a Cavalier and Sunfire for drag racing and have produced over 700 reliable hp. And they use the Saab head because it flows better. So, I'm guessing that tuning possibilities do exist.
