Did you sign up for the McDonald's lawsuit too?

You join a lawsuit because the factory's gross negligence harmed you. You don't join a lawsuit because you are one of a few that lives in a potholed area and buys tires/rims inappropriate for the road conditions and you see a deep pocket to finance your mistake.
That most owners don't have similar problems strongly suggests that gross negligence in the design or application does not exist. The big grey area in your argument is what was the air pressure in your tires (your responsibility) and how were you driving (ditto).
This suit is a shakedown by lawyers because they know the odds are that SAAB's insurance company will require SAAB to settle rather than litigate. Watch the lawyers get most of the cash and you get a certificate good for $200 in parts at a dealer, if that. Lawyers never take the coupons for free goods, they take cash.
What amuses me is that there have been several posts on this issue and most say it would be nice to get the money and buy new 17 or even 18 inch wheels. They justify the money in terms of safety and then make the problem worse by buying larger wheels with lower profile tires.
Get a Camry with 14 inch steel wheels and then eat at McDonalds so you can join the new lawsuit from fat people - its all McDonald's fault!!
