discretion being the better part of valor applies here. Who gets gas first is not worth potential physical confrontation. Suppose you had pressed matters and the guy pulls a weapon. Or the two of them take you on. The cops would have been there pronto, busted up the fight and you would have been more than late for dinner (plus your wife would have been pissed!). Then you'd get to go to court with the punks. It that worth it?
But more in line with the issue is that it seems that a lot of people under maybe 25 have a whole lot of anger that comes out in a lot of ways and they are good at intimidating people. On the other hand, when I used to commute to work most of the road rage was from Baby Boomer types (I fit in there) who seemed to have a huge sense of self-importance.
People are certainly screwed up. I think a big part of it comes from the fact that there are just too many people on a planet (and country) with way too much inequity of income, opportunity, and education, and that breeds a lot of hate and dissatisfaction.
This is a complex topic...
Thanks,
Noel
