the point being. These cars have transverse engines mounted longitudely. Our aluminum EcoTec engine will mount to a modified bellhousing without any weight distribution issues. It will cover the same area as the current Subaru engine, and won't weigh as much anyway. The Impreza's transmission will intrude into the cabin just like every other car with a longitudely mounted engine. There will be a tunnel between the seats for the gearbox to sit, this has been happening in RWD & RWD based AWD vehicles since the dawn of the automobile. Believe me, the engine mounting will be the least of our worries. Making the rest of the car meet our reputation for safety will be the biggest hurdle. Also, bear in mind, this isn't being built on the current Impreza, it will be built on the next generation Impreza that is due out in the next year or two.
