New S60R/V70R... Viggen eating power?

As a thrilled and devoted Viggen driver I was dismayed to see a Motor Trend clip on the new Volvo S60R sedan and V70R wagon. Wow. Turbo 2.5L 5 cyl putting out 300hp through a 6-speed stick. About 300lb heavier than a Viggen; maybe comp to Aero? The Volvo makes peak torque at 1950rpm and holds flat curve all the way to 5200. Ouch.
I've never owned a Volvo, but I gotta believe they make a quality product and with that kind of power, what a thrill ride. Will be interesting to see how they handle and whether they're able to plant that much power without lotsa torque steer.
