A 10 kiloton bomb (the kind they said it was on the show) isn't very big. It's on the hiroshima/nagasaki scale, the actual blast radius isn't too big. Even a megaton sized bomb, wich is like 100 times more powerful, only completely demolishes everything out to a 3 mile radius. Of course you could get mopped up well outside of that, but at 210 knots and 4 minutes away, Jack was a good 15 miles or so away. He'd be fine.
