Hi,
I too have had lasik. I didn't even check for medical insurance
coverage of lasik. It's very rare for an "elective" procedure like lasik
to be covered by medical insurance. My company eye insurance did cover
lasik somewhat, but they would have told me where to go.
Don't let anyone tell you which doctor to go to for eye surgery. I
gladly payed $5000 for both eyes. I had very bad vision before surgery.
So, the eye sight following surgery fluctuated from between 20/40 to
20/20. My doctor, who came highly recommended, told me that this would
happen. My eye sight now is better than 20/20 and stable. It's been
about one year since surgery.
You have to sign something that says one possible side effect is total
blindness. Don't get a $999 per eye deal. Also, check for
recommendations and claims at BBB.
thanks
Jae
