way O.T.........2005 Audi A6 Oil Change question Posted by mlc [Email] (#1747) [Profile/Gallery] (more from mlc) on Fri, 3 Jun 2005 12:31:38 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
My friend tried asking this question over on the Audiworld forum, but was more or less assaulted because of the "tone" he used after the moderator asked him why is he changing his own oil! So I figured I'd try here..as many Saabers seem to also have Audi's in their garages...and thought maybe someone was familiar with the sound absorber panel on the newer model.
So. the question relates to the new 2005 A6 (3.2 V6) and its sound absorber that now contains 6 removable half-turn screws near the front bumper instead of 3, and 3 plastic fasteners in each wheel well instead of 2. There also appears to be some "slot-into-tab" action with another smaller sound absorber behind the main one. Also, the part of the absorber that attaches to the wheel wells appears to be a separate piece that is "permanently fastened" to the main absorber, but he can't be sure and doesn't want to break it, so he didn't try very hard to remove the whole thing. Does anyone know the "proper" (that is, non-damage-causing) way to remove and re-install the new sound absorber in order to perform an oil change?
