What do you mean by this?

You do realize that the region with the highest divorce rate in the U.S. is the "bible belt"? I think this is widely known in demographics.

Just google "Bible Belt divorce rate" and look at some of the links. I believe the absolute highest state is Nevada but the the South Eastern United States +Texas is very high as a region (almost 100% of these states are above the national average). BTW I think the lowest rate is Massachusetts with places like NY,MN, and similar states also among the lowest.

You can also look a US cenus data if you want confirmation. None of this should be a suprise. When you get super rigid about relationships it is going to get dysfunctional.

If you eyeball the individual states it looks like strong correlate between bluish states and lower divorce rates and redish states and higher divorce rates across the nation. I didn't speficially correlate it but this link shows the state by state rate and national average.

There is no political comment intended in this post. Accounting for the differences in rates is really far more complex than the division suggested by the above facts. However, the orignal statement is even more off the mark when it comes to the facts.
