I agree with Mike's comments. Trouble parking???? Please.
I like Jeremy Clarkson, and I like Top Gear. However, if you buy an SUV and you are surprised that it guzzles gas and is harder to park than a car, then you've got a screw loose.
I bought a Cayenne because I needed the functionality of an SUV. Despite what Clarkson says, it works great for my family. All four of us fit comfortably. It is extremely capable in snow and other adverse conditions. It is fast, and fun to drive. It fits easily in my garage, and in parking spaces at my office (no trouble parking here). I drive quite a bit on the highway, and it returns about 18 - 19 MPG on average. Not as good as my Saab was, but not bad for an SUV. Compare that to a Jeep or an Explorer. The Cayenne handles very well when equipped properly. Mine has the active air suspension mentioned in the article, which is a wonderful thing. Coupled with 20" wheels and appropriate tires, it pulls roughly .90 on the skidpad. I'd like to see another SUV do that. Also - the idiotic comments about air cushioning your fall if you jump from a window... it will do exactly that! When Hollywood stunt men in the movies jump from windows, then jump into an air mattress, not onto a set of springs.
My summary is: If you need an SUV, and you like to drive a fun, fast vehicle that handles well, the Cayenne is a great purchase. I look forward to driving mine every day.
