something I thought worth posting Posted by jak [Email] ![]() ![]() |
this morning I drove my son to school in the newgen & was verry happy with the power
on the way back home I stood on it & it would only make like 19 lbs boost & it was pretty cold out too
I was like Oh no it adapted back :-( so I unpluged it & pluged it back in & it was even worse :-( & I was like what the heck?
so I looked carefuly for boost leaks I found none (thuroughly inspected every hose)
I pulled the 2 month old plugs & found #1 center electrode insulator not cracked but kinda sooted but not realy like it was rich it was strange I thought mabey it was leaking internaly or had been misfiring even though I dident feel it at all? so I changed it & without adapting it it went from about 18 lbs max before changing it to 22 lbs afterward
I will re adapt the ECU tomarrow AM & expect the 25 lbs max boost I got this morning & last night :-)
spark plug condition is critical on tuned trionic cars they have to be gapped corectly & be kept in perfect condition
take care
