The T5 is not user adjustable unless you have the software and knowledge to change the ignition maps/parameters like JAK or Frank (SQR). What I understand is that the T5 starts out at 10 deg on startup. Under non-boost conditions it will be around 20 deg and decrease with RPM. Under boost conditions, the timing will be retarded if knocking is sensed through the DI ionization current sensing feature. The T5 will only pull back timing down enough to stop knock. If knocking is still present, it will lower the boost pressure. In my opinion, the T5 is very intelligent in how it controls timing. Much more sophisticated than other EMS that just read timing maps since it maximizes timing under all conditions. Probably the best thing to do for a T5 is to make sure you are using only the NGK resistor plugs, correctly torqued, and properly gapped at all times.
