Well, I have a 1997 Saab 9000 Aero. I put on a completely different and custom turbo system that we fabricated at the garage. I bypassed the APC system in favor of an independant boost controller. According to my Datalogger, timing is wonderful up to about 17 PSI but anything over that and timing drops from about 15* on 94 Octane to about 3-5*. I know the engine can take the power up to the 19 PSI I want to run, but given the choice between 2 more pounds, and 10* of timing, the timing always wins out. At Stage Three, we've worked a lot with a company called MAFT Pro on DSMs. They make a system that runs the car in a speed density mode, exactly like the Trionic system. Before anything can be done however, I'm sure I'll need to tell him exactly how the system works and what signals can be modified to advance the timing. Is there perhaps a Camshaft or chrank postion sensor that we can alter to give us more timing? I understand if this information is not something you're willing to give out like it's candy, so if you want the ECU and can tune it for me, I would be more than happy to work through you for this, and any other Saab projects that will surely come along, especially after this thing hits the road.
