Adriaan,
Hope all's well!
A 4-5 psi turbocharger boost pressure increase might benefit from a slightly increased ignition retard when under maximum pressures. OEM ignition retard under full charge pressure is at 11 dbtdc and you could see some benefit by a retard of 10 - 10.5 dbtdc. Allowing for this will take some adjustment of the distributor with use of a timing light and mity-vac pressure pump (at the distributor retard pot/diaphragm).
Since your base timing is set at 16 dbtdc from the factory (with a 5 degree retard under turbocharger boost pressures), a reduction of base timing to 15.5 to 15 dbtdc would reach your retard goal of 10 - 10.5 dbtdc.
Removal of the diaphragm/pot from the distributor would allow for altering the lever arm stop to provide more travel. With a properly altered diaphragm stop, base timing could be advanced to 18+ dbtdc while still allowing for retard to 10-10.5 dbtdc when under maximum turbocharger boost pressures.
Best of luck and regards,
GaryK at SWEDISH DYNAMICS,INC.
