Dean, I agree Techron is much more readily available than 44K, which is probably why BG has not done nearly as well as was expected 25+ years ago, by those of us who were early adopters. Your photos clearly show how effective Techron is at removing these deposits, and are a whale of a lot easier and effective over time for the non-professional mechanic/tech than, say a top engine cleaner, ala GM TEC. Lord knows, even some fair techs have hydro-locked and damaged engines using that procedure with just a bit too much gusto on the vacuum add portion, sad to say. I always use products that I recommend, and in my experience, the 44K seems to do the job faster, idle and full throttle quality seems to be a lot smoother, less hesitation on acceleration, but, hey, what do I know, I'm just a mechanic. For the record, I also recommend Techron, with equal weight as the 44K, protocol you know. Thanks so much for the photos, I hope a lot of doubting Thomas techs and Service Managers get a chance to see just what a quality "tuneup in a can" can actually do. I especially loved the one of the valve petal, that's the area that will give an engine heartburn if it has carbon deposit buildup, and the Techron seems to be cleaning that OK.
