Found some power tonight - maybe more

Car is a stage 4 94 9k Aero.
So I had the TCS problem and traced it to the throttle body as with many people before me. Did the removal/breakdown/cleaning - ran into a few problems but thats another story. While in there I noticed that the throttle valve - butterfly? - did not open all the way under full throttle, obviously restricting power. There is a diaphram attached to the spring loaded arm that I believe works as a vacuum to assist in opening when stepping on the gas. This piece prevents the throttle from opening all the way. I tried adjusting the plastic screw on it and wound up breaking the piece. After calming down I went to Home Depot and was able to put together some replacement piece that works good - actually better because the throttle opens wider now than before. Took a test drive and sure enough - the car is definately faster. Thing is the throttle still doesn't go wide open so I know there is even more there to be had. It's almost as if the diaphram was designed that way - but I may go in again and try to adjust. Just thought I'd share - bet it's not just me.
