Well it's "a little of this and a little of that" scenario. The injector drive (at least for high-impedance injectors) is DC but it's pulsed so in some senses it acts like AC. And the injectors have both resistance and inductance (and capacitance but it's insignificant). The relative effect of the resistance and inductance changes with pulsewidth - for short pulses the inductance dominates, for longer ones the resistance dominates.
So maybe they use the term "inductance" to more accurately describe how it reacts to pulsed power. Or maybe just because it sounds more impressive ;^)
