Aquamist power problems..

I’m attempting to setup my old aquamist 1s water injection system as an ic sprayer. I have all the power and ground lines setup. I went to test the pump to see if it spits out any water and all I get is a bunch of clicking noises from the aquamist 40 amp relay. The car has been sitting for a while, but the battery is not dead at all. The ‘ignition on’ power source is running from the front of that car to the interior and is super thin. I was thinking while at work that maybe there is not enough juice flowing to the relay/pump because of this wire??? Or the wire is to thin, or would a bad relay cause this as well? Or maybe the pump is shot which I hope is not the case-it ran fine a couple months ago. Any electrical guru’s out there have an idea? Basically I don’t have clue.
Thanks
