I use to own a 1997 Jetta GLX VR-6. I didn't real;ly do must to make the car go faster except: K&N filter, Chipped ECU, Wires, and Exhaust. It was a really nice car for a while but, then for some reason I started having problems with the window regulators. They are expensive and I got a bad taste in mouth for VW's after that. Been driving a 9000T ever since.
I ran the car a few times at the track before and pulled a 15.2 in the quarter mile. Forgot the speed though through the trap. Accords and civics couldn't hold me at all. Especially once I hit 3rd gear. The car had been dropped 1 3/4 inches and was crazy nice on the highway and through the twisties.. I thought it was a cool experience. Would I call the car fast? no not really. I would say it was alot of fun though. Besides how fast do you reallty need to go? Sometimes I miss it cause the engine and drivetrain seemed to be bulletproof, better than my 9000T. They also spin rather freely to redline as well. I'd guess it had about 190 BHP,190 Tourque as well. Phil,
