I wanted to by-pass the coolant from going into the throttle body. In this design, I wanted the by-pass to be able to be used in summer and turned off in winter. Thus, I was thinking of installing an in-line valve. This would allow me to turn the flow of coolant off in the summer and on in the winter. However, I am not sure I understand how that would effect to whole flow of the cooling system. Would I screw something as one of the lines no longer flows. If I am not mistaken, the bottom hose on the throttle body goes back directly to the water pump.

As always... any thoughts would be appreciated.
