I know its not bolt on, but that's what I see a lot of the subbie guys doing, especailly with the big turboed 2.5L motors. How does the internal wastegate's flow hit the turbine flow? Is it possible to seperate?
Another route of attack my be the bpc solenoid. I've seen these be a constant problem on the 9000's...there are some aftermarket units made, one in particular made by a company called Perrin that can be had for less than $100. I wonder if its possible to adapt to your application, I'd imagine as long as the voltage range was correct this would be doable...
I know this is going more down the line of things to try, rather than proven solutions...but it seems like the route of the problem is either not enough wastegate flow or bpv inability to regulate boost accurately and quickly enough at these boost levels...of course either of these routes will require retuning and lord knows when el shrimpe grande will return...
Another thing to consider is that from I've heard, wastegate porting is more a solution to boost creep at WOT and high rpm, than dealing with surging in the middle range.
