I have a question about clutch or tranie noise? :-) Posted by jak [Email] (#195) [Profile/Gallery] (more from jak) on Tue, 19 Dec 2006 17:18:03 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I just did my clutch like 2 weeks ago
I know my tranie is getting pretty tired as its getting pretty noisy on deceleration especially
anyway my new 6 puck sprung clutch is working great & I put on a new viggen PP & resurtaced the flywheel
its dificult to get it to shudder but the pedal movement between dis enguaged & enguaged id small as expected
the noise Im getting is a grind/howl/high frequency vibraton/ honk, especially when the clutch is cold & Im trying to back up my steep driveway or load the clutch hard while sliping but I think it only does it if the car is moving
my theory is that the input shaft is a bit loose from the bearings not being preloaded properly & that the disk is sorta floating around a bit under those circumstances
has anyone else here experienced this sort of thing?
Im gona build a fresh trans & engine soon
my trans & engine are definatly showing their age at 220Kmi & almost 440BHP
take care
