Sorry to nit-pick, I really am, but I think the 900 is more like 75-80% the same as the 9-3. Especially when you would compare a 94se' with a 2000se. Which would you chose if they were laid out in front of you and price wasn't an issue? Remember all of those recalls and campaigns? Major cosmetics aside(improvements), they fixed a lot of inherent problems with the suspension and made significant safety changes to the structure,(b-pendulum pillar, side compression SRS, dual load pathing up front, etc.) as well as performance(gear ratios in the 5-speed, hydro clutch from 98 and up, T-7 trionic which is arguable here for easy mods but is still superior, and you get the point. The kids lucky to have the 9-3 just for these reasons alone. The auto in the NG900 is surprisingly strong and has been used in many performance applications. The 850 and S-70 volvo T5 and R models use basically the same transmission and have close to 250hp stock. They don't have ZF written anywhere on them, and are FAIRLY trouble free. (We did replace these on ocassion) Anyway, automatics and turbos work well with each other, if they are built well. Chris, call maptune and get their software. You have T-7 and it won't respond that well to inexpensive tuning. Buy the sport exhaust too. This will make a great difference with the auto by itself. Don't worry about light pressure turbos because US built 900's and 9-3's never got them. You said Ft. Wayne right? Don't forget to upgrade your wheels and brakes if you go with the big power. I'm sure you had that in mind anyway.
