the VRK isn't really a suspension fix to improve handling bur it reduces torque steer & tramlining. This is probably the biggest reason why these cars are trashed by car mags because torque steer & tramlining is scary at times. Pathetic for a $40K+ car...... The VRK with the 6pt subframe brace greatly reduces those problems!!
I really am not sure of any trouble areas with these cars. Mine has 86K & it's been almost trouble free. AC compressor (under warrante), DI casette & presently the car is a complete PITA to get into reverse. The 99's do have the weakest pistons.......
With the viggen vert... yea..... pretty scary. My viggen is a 5dr & I am amazed by how flexy the car is. Yank the roof & add the normal viggen issues (tramlining, torquesteer, etc) & that equals a scary ride. I know my parents 9-3 vert is definantly a weak/flexy car.
