Oopsie doodle! Posted by Justin VanAbrahams [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Re: Stud conversion part 2, 900 Aero ![]() |
Looks like Prestige is right... I just pulled one of the lugs off my 5-door, and sure enough they're 1/2"-20. I've got some aftermarket wheels on there with tuner lugs, and it's written right across the base of the nut...
I will fork out [reasonable] money today for a stud that can thread into the hub of an '88+ car and is 12mm or 1/2" on the outside . Seeing as how the -'87 cars are 1/2", that seems a convenient way to go so I only have to keep one nut around, but I'm not particular.
There is a wide enough selection of 4x108 wheels these days that just having "normal sized" studs is good enough for me. If I'm going to go to the trouble of a bolt pattern adapter (which I'm not *entirely* sure about), I'd probably go with one of the "commercial" adapters available for Fords. I'd rather have access to 5x100 or 5x114.3 bolt patterns than another oddball 5x110... :)
