The reason your hearing it is because your in the beggining rev range of boost. So as soon as you give it some gas your hearing the turbo come right on as it should. So if you have cruise control on or are giving it gas manually to maintain speed at the 2300 rpm range your always gonna hear the turbo spin up. I went from a 9k to the 9-3 and having the GS cold intake made me like the 9-3 more because in the 9k even with stock intake I could always hear the spool of the turbo versus stock 9-3 intake with compressor on the passenger side. Its everyone's individual preference on this one. If you don't want a race car sound go back to stock intake and run a K&N filter inplace of the GS intake.
