I find that all the c900s I've ever had tended to need their maf replaced frequently, while my viggen has 108k on the original and no trouble yet.
Is the flakiness of the maf in the c900 due to the design of the part itself, or by the way it's mounted? Has anyone ever tried using a different part than the stock Bosch one and it's generic equivalents? I searched performance and c900 boards but nothing jumped out at me.
Since these things are expensive, even when buying the cheaper brand, I've been thinking about the possibility of using a newer, hopefully more reliable maf. Friends of mine who tune Nissans have routinely used larger mafs on their old cars successfully and only had to splice some wires and change their software a little to accommodate it. Not that this means it's possible on a c900, but it's food for thought.
