I just did one for a guy here Posted by jak [Email] (#195) [Profile/Gallery] (more from jak) on Sat, 21 Feb 2009 20:46:00 In Reply to: engine rebuild, what else while in there?, jerrit, Fri, 20 Feb 2009 15:31:54 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
bearings rod/ main/ thrust
have rods measured, resized if needed & ballanced allong with the pistons
if you are using JE pistons be careful with the rings they are verry thin & delicate
use the 320 grit stones for a smoother finish
make sure when you are done honing that the inside of the block is immaculate!
you can do a timing chain & guides too but I wouldent bother with the gears
the heads never really need anything.... really maybe a new set of valve stem seals
I dont like head studs I like OE bolts but other folks may have had good expeirence with them I know nick has beat on a few engines with them in there & had success
Ive made over 500BHP using nitrous which is freaking BRUTAL with stock head bolts & gasket & the pistons break before the gasket lets go
thats a few things
Brad is a bad ass engine builder, he may have some good stuff to add
take care
