I decided to finally install my new Taliaferro control arm and ARB bushings yesterday. I pulled the control arms and brought them down the road to a shop that does all my little things I don't have the tools for, to have them press the old bushings out. The owner insisted the inner bushings are not replaceable; of course I insisted they are, citing Taliaferro replaces them for sure, and they sold me the bushings. Again he insisted, but conceded to try. Of course he wasn't able to get them out and i got the I told you so smirk when I came back to pick them up. Obviously these bushings have to be serviceable; so what's the story? I had to put the car back together so I can get to school and work, but I'd really like to get the new bushings in.
Nick at Taliaferro; is there some trick to getting those old bushings out. Eventually I can take the control arms out again and have somebody else throw them on their press. ANYBODY...?
